Right Or Wrong ? Convenience Fee Charge Deductions on Ticket Cancellation By IRCTC

Actual:Authority said that :-    Scenerio Refund of railway tickets booked for travel during the lockdown period from March 22 to May 3 would Deduct  the convenience fee from ₹10 to ₹30 per Head levied by the  IRCTC.

IRCTC - the online ticketing arm of Indian Railways - levies a convenience fee of ₹15 per Head on a sleeper class ticket and ₹30 on AC ticket. The convenience fee is reduced to ₹10 for sleeper class and ₹20 for AC if the transaction is done through BHIM UPI aap. Another report says that50 per cent of IRCTC ticket sales are transacted through the BHIM UPI aap.

Similarlyy, if a person  buys a ticket from a ticketing counter  run by the Railways, he/she will pay ₹10-15 less on each booking, depending on the class.

IRCTC collected approx  ₹14.1 crore on 94 lakh for booked tickets  between March 22 and May 3, by taking ₹15 per Head convenience fee for sleeper class ticket as per the regulation.

The convenience fee collected for booking a ticket on the IRCTC website or app goes to IRCTC as the ticketing system is run by it, while the rail fare goes into the account of Indian Railways.

Another Report says That Railways  Fixed Per Day Expenditure for Running the Railways Online Ticketing system is 57 lakh Per Day.

Point Of Railways On this : IRCTC official Said that Convenience charge is not the part of rail fare as it is cost for Providing the service which is Already being Offered By Booking Online Ticket And the Rail fare which is cost of  travelling from one point to Other which is fully refundable which means  There is No Deductions in Rail fare .

What I think : Personally I think There is no need of Cancellation and Clerkage Charges As Government Promotes Digital India which Also Includes Online Booking which Reduces the Pen paper Work,Bribery etc. And If I counter The question of Ticketing system expenditure  then Government must Anticipate this cost by own as this time Passenger didn't cancelled the tickets by own  instead IRCTC did.

Arthvyavastha Ki Baat

Factors Defining Rest of Year' Course of Indian Economy The first-quarter GDP growth number — a contraction by 24% — was on expected lines and shows that the Indian economy has slumped sharply due to the lockdown. “Growth for the full year is likely to be in the region of (—) 6.4 per cent, which is premised on a low negative growth number for the first two quarters for certain, possibly a close to positive number in the third quarter, and positive growth in the last quarter,” writes Madan Sabnavis, chief economist of CARE Ratings. But two basic factors would influence the assumptions being made on the growth prospects for the coming quarters. The first is the process of “Unlocking”. It has been observed that with the economy moving from the stage of a total lockdown in April to a gradual opening up of the windows in May and June, and then the door opening up a little more significantly in July and August, the movement from one stage to another did reflect in the macro-economic nu...
